2. Scope and purpose
This policy applies to Schön! Video Publisher, an internal tool used only by authorised Schön! staff to prepare, upload and monitor approved editorial videos on the official Schön! Magazine YouTube channel. The public information site does not offer public user registration and uses no advertising trackers or analytics cookies.
3. Data obtained through YouTube API Services
When an authorised channel owner connects the tool through Google OAuth, the application may access only the YouTube data permitted by the scopes shown on Google’s consent screen:
- the connected channel’s identity, including channel name and channel ID;
- video upload and processing status;
- the video IDs and metadata needed to verify uploads performed by the tool; and
- an OAuth access and refresh token used to perform authorised operations.
The application does not request or store the user’s Google password and does not access Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, viewing history or payment information.
4. How we use YouTube data
We use authorised data only to identify the intended Schön! Magazine channel, upload content and metadata selected by authorised staff, apply the approved privacy setting, and verify processing or upload status. We do not use YouTube API data for advertising, profiling, surveillance or sale.
5. Storage and security
OAuth tokens and migration records are stored on a dedicated server hosted by Hetzner in Germany. Access is restricted to authorised operators, secrets are kept outside the public website, and transport is encrypted. Operational records may include a source video ID, YouTube video ID, title, description, visibility, processing state and timestamps.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell or rent YouTube API data. Data is disclosed only where necessary to operate the tool: to Google/YouTube as the API provider, to Hetzner as the infrastructure provider, to authorised Schön! personnel, or where required by law. We do not allow unrelated third parties to access authorised YouTube data.
7. Retention and refresh
Authorised API data is retained only as long as needed for the approved publishing workflow. Data subject to YouTube’s refresh requirements is refreshed or deleted within 30 days. If authorisation can no longer be verified, related stored YouTube API data is deleted. OAuth credentials are deleted when access is revoked, the connected account requests deletion, or the publishing service is discontinued.
8. Data deletion and revocation
To request deletion of data stored by Schön! Video Publisher, email team@schonmagazine.com with the subject “Schön! Video Publisher data deletion”. We will verify the request and delete the relevant stored user data as soon as possible and within seven calendar days.
You can also revoke the application’s Google access at any time from Google Account connections. Revoking access stops future API access but may not itself erase records already stored by the application; contact us to request their deletion.
9. Your rights and policy framework
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection regarding your personal data. Contact team@schonmagazine.com. Use of information received from YouTube API Services adheres to the YouTube API Services Developer Policies, the YouTube API Services Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy.
